2 days In Lisboa- small and noisy but near the action

Good place but a bit noisy at night and in the morning. No control over the air conditioner even if it was during winter period, the windows were not enough to keep it comfortable Easy check in and check out, basic commodity to make food but there was a lot of restaurant and Coffee shop around. The staff did not speak english or french at all and there was no reception so it was a bit difficult to communicate for some information. Otherwise, the location is really good near the time out market and a lot of restaurants.

Had to leave after just one night

We were supposed to stay at the apartment for 4 nights in May 2023. Unfortunately, we had to leave the apartment after spending just the one night there. Upon arrival, the early signs were good. Though it was slightly overcomplicated to check into the apartments, requiring you to scan your photo ID (in our case passport) into a touch screen device, once in the apartment we found it to be spacious and well equipped, with plenty of room in the wardrobes for hangers to hang your clothes. We stayed in room 1.01. We had an issue with the safe and accidentally set the alarm off, but upon calling the apartment's telephone number this was quickly resolved. Unfortunately after that, the experience was a nightmare. The apartment is in a lively part of the city, which is good as you're in close proximity to the many restaurants and bars. However, the noise from the street is unbearable. The apartment is located directly next to a tourist attraction, one of the trams that goes up and down continuously. We'd read reviews beforehand that stated it was a little noisy, but were completely unprepared for what we experienced. The first time we heard the noise it sounded like an aeroplane flying about 10m above the building, and this, combined with the fact the 25E tram runs directly past the apartment as well, meant that with no exaggeration the noise occurred every 5 minutes from about 6.30am in the morning. This was reason enough to want to leave, but there was much worse. We had arrived on a relatively late flight and so didn't end up going to bed until around 11.30pm-midnight. As we attempted to go to sleep, my wife became aware of what was very clearly the sound of rodents in the ceiling above our room. The continuously scuttling noise went on throughout the evening and my wife, who is terrified of rodents, was unable to sleep at all that evening. For these reasons, we informed the apartment the next morning that we were booking alternative accommodation for our remaining three evenings, which ended up costing us nearly £700. The manager attempted to offer us an alternative room, but as my wife was so upset we had already decided to check out and leave the hotel. We couldn't check in to our new accommodation until 3pm, so tried to make the most of the morning by doing some sightseeing, before leaving later that day. To give the customer facing staff some credit, they were very pleasant when we emailed them and explained to them that the level of service we had received was well below our expectations of the apartment. However, though they sympathised, they were completely unwilling to offer us a refund on our remaining stay, despite us offering to also pay for the second day as the short notice would have meant they would have not been able to offer the room to anyone else. They kept referring to the 'administration' who would not authorise them to refund us. Eventually, we stated that if we didn't receive a refund we'd be forced to share our experience, but they didn't seem to care. Funny enough, in all of the email exchanges with them, they never once denied having a rodent problem. I would advise that if you're considering the apartment as somewhere to stay, that you opt to say somewhere else, even if a bit more expensive, as it will save you money in the long run.

Ideal for a city break

We arrived after a long day travelling and struggled to find the entrance. The address on Expedia is 234 but should be 236. The entrance was hidden by the long queue of people waiting for the Ascensor. It was only when I saw 2 ladies bending over a door code machine that we realised - on the Rua San Paolo, to the left of the Ascensor entrance is a recessed doorway. It currently has a glitter ball lamp and appears to be a bistro. There is a heavy glass door on the left and a door code machine. The sign for the Serviced Apartments is etched at ankle height so not too helpful! In the daytime you might notice another sign but it’s quite high up. However, the place is clean and well equipped and we’ve found it remarkably quiet at night. The Cais do Sodre transport interchange is a 5 min walk away making navigating the city straightforward.

We stayed at this apartment which I thought to be a good find. The hotel had an 8.1/10 rating on Booking.com. We paid in advance. Check-in was smooth using codes. Got to the room and it matched the online version. First surprise was that the sir conditioning was not working. I called the 24 hour service number, no reply. Sent an email. Got a response the next day instructing me to call in real time using the black phone in the lobby to fix the problem. Long story short, it was not fixed for our 3 night stay. This hotel is in a rough, noisy part of town near the bus station. Another surprise was constant noise all night from garbage trucks outside our window. I would not stay at this apartment again and recommend others avoid it as well. Some more issues are old beds, poor towels and the hike up the hill to the city center. Tourists beware!

This apartment has a very inflexible check in policy. Their system is way more important than guest comfort and convenience. I extended my stay twice, staying for a total of 14 days. I accidentally booked the same day twice, so I asked for a refund. NOPE. I asked to stay in the same apartment so I won’t have to move for the last 3 days NOPE. I asked to have the same access code, NOPE. So I was locked out in the middle of the night and had to deal with the intercom for 15 mins to “reregister” when they already have all my information since I’d been there for a week. Definitely not customer focused. I will NOT recommend this apartment. There are equivalent priced and better customer focused places in Lisbon.
